A Giant Book-Shaped Library

The Kansas City Public Library in Kansas City, Missouri, is an architectural example of the offbeat spirit of the city’s residents and leaders of the public library system. In the heart of the city, the building is adjacent to a large central parking garage. Unlike common urban landscapes, which want car parks to tend to stain the environment, this one has a certain cachet: it looks like a library shelf, with 22 titles chosen from the suggestions of city dwellers to illustrate the diversity of reading subjects. Built in 2004, this building also hides a splendid interior inherited from an old bank from the early 20th century. Fubiz Media https://ift.tt/2uzPiGd March 31, 2019 at 03:24PM

President Donald Trump Tweetstorm – The Sunday Edition

If there’s any doubt that Round Two of the Russian collusion story is underway, that was dispelled today by President Donald Trump ’s first two posts of the Sunday tweetstorm. The Commander-in-Tweet is clearly gearing up for a post-Mueller jihad on the sources of the FISA warrants, railing against the issue from his online bully pulpit. LOL: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Turns Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ into a Discover Card Commercial

Jordan Peele ‘s latest film Us has been talked about endlessly since hitting theaters over a week ago. The film is a layered, terrifying allegory for, well, a lot of different issues facing our society today. And what’s great is that there are so many interpretations of the movie out there which make perfect sense. It’s the kind of movie we’ll be dissecting for years. Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live did what they do best by taking the popular movie and putting a comedic spin on it. In what is probably the best sketch we could have gotten based on Us , the movie is turned into one of those Discover credit card commercials where a customer talks to themselves as a customer service representative. There’s even an explanation for one of the most incessantly asked mysteries in the movie. Watch the Saturday Night Live Us sketch below. Saturday Night Live Us Sketch Not only is this an outstanding parody of both Us and those recurring doppelgänger commercials from Discover, but it giv

Artist Stuart Haygarth Elevates the Prosaic to the Sublime

British artist Stuart Haygarth is above all else a storyteller. His practice revolves around commonplace or discarded objects which are diligently collected, meticulously categorized and skillfully assembled into elaborate sculptures that whimsically imbue the banal and overlooked with beauty and grace by turning randomness and waste into order and symmetry. For the artist, no object is unredeemable. Yatzer RSS Feed https://ift.tt/2TNkR9A April 01, 2019 at 05:00AM

Cobra Kai put YouTube Premium on the map with originals. The sequel to the Karate Kid films became a phenomenon when it premiered last year, and YouTube ordered a second season in the first week.
