Unlike traditional paper marbling methods, all you need is paint, cardboard and a few seconds to get this modern, organic rainbow effect—we used the technique to create a whole sheet of colorful stickers. Make a batch of these, and use them to seal envelopes, decorate packages, (hello, happy mail!) or festoon favor bags.   Materials needed: Printable labels , gouache or acrylic paints, cardboard scrap with straight edge, favor bags or envelopes Step 1: In the top right corner of a sheet of labels, squeeze several dots and lines of paint. Step 2: Using the cardboard scrap, scrape paint down the length of the label sheet. Step 3: Use excess paint on cardboard to paint another section of the label sheet. If necessary, reapply paint using the same technique to cover the whole label sheet. Step 4: Use labels to seal envelopes or decorate favor bags. MOMS! This year for Mother’s Day, grab a few of your #coolmom friends and host a Mom’s-Only-Brunch together. (No kids or dads allowed!) Keep the planning simple by splitting the responsibilities. Potlucks (or, better yet, catering!) are the ways to go. Get creative with the location: parks, rooftops, backyards, or pop up tables in expected locations  make things feel special. Use a pile of citrus fruits and foraged vines as a centerpiece; it’s easy to pull together, but still feels beautiful. Looking for a craft activity over the Easter break? You might have made something similar in your pre-school class when you were little, as this activity has been around for a while. I love the way the white tissue paper looks like shredded coconut! Materials needed: chocolate bunny, tissue paper, scissors, craft glue, ribbon, pink bump chenille pipe cleaners, googly eyes, tin foil (if needed), pencil, ½” pom poms Step 1: If you are using a chocolate bunny that is not wrapped in foil, gently wrap it in tin foil, pressing down to get as close a possible to the chocolate form. Step 2: Cut up tissue paper into 1″ x 1″ squares. They do not need to be perfect, but try to keep them roughly the same size so that your finished project is fairly even. Place your pencil’s eraser into the center of a pink tissue paper square, and wrap the square around the pencil eraser. Why not go simple this Easter? No need to bother with fussy details when you can tell these are bunnies just by their long floppy ears, right? They couldn’t be easier to make with just a handful of supplies. Hippity-hop to it! Materials needed: cotton balls, 4″ cake pop sticks, white bump chenille pipe cleaners, scissors, pink card stock, hot glue gun Step 1: Using hot glue, attach a cotton ball to a cake pop stick. Step 2: Cut out the bumps of the white pipe cleaner to make ears, and attach two to the top of the bunny’s head. Step 3: Cut out two very thin curved slivers out of the pink card stock, and using a tiny amount of hot glue, attach them to the center of each ear. I’ve been putting together some Easter Baskets for my kids and thought I would share some of picks here. Easter is always one of those holidays that catches me by surprise so I’m patting myself on the back that I’m not at the drugstore the night before trying to make tictacs count as Easter Candy. 1. EASTER BASKETS We were in the need for new baskets and I bought these hand woven ones. 2. CLASSIC RUBBER DUCKY  In the wise words of Ernie “Rubber Ducky, you’re the one!” 3. GERMAN CRAYONS I love the sweet vintage packaging on these crayons. 4. BUNNY BONNET Because dressing small children up as animals is the main reason you had them in the first place. 5. STRAWBERRY CONTAINER I got this last year “for my daughter” and it is as functional as it is cute. 6. CARROT STUFFIE  Because it’s on brand and reminds them to eat their vegetables. 7. Springtime brings with it symbols like birds, nests, eggs – new beginnings all around. These pretty birds nest place cards are literally right out of the box/bag – just buy a bag in the pasta aisle of your local grocery store! How cute would these be for a springtime baby shower or a fancy Easter dinner?! Materials needed: angel hair pasta nests (available at most grocery stores), candy eggs, card stock, scissors, toothpicks, glue, small alphabet letter stamps, stamp pad Step 1: Cut out a 1/4″ x 2″ strip of card stock, and stamp your guest’s name on it. Let ink dry, and cut a notch on the right side. Step 2: Glue the name flag to a toothpick. Step 3: Place a few candy eggs into the nest, and insert the toothpick into the pasta at an angle. Here’s a little luck o’ the Irish for St. Patrick’s Day – sweet miniature wreaths that claim “Kiss Me, I’m Irish!” and “Lucky As Can Be.” These would be so sweet to give to your grandmother, teacher, friend – or any lucky person, really! Materials needed: mini grapevine wreaths, green paper, St. Pat’s Wreath Tags Template , scissors, miniature shamrock confetti, glue. Step 1: Download the St. Pat’s Wreath Tags Template , print out, and cut out the mini tags. Cut just inside the printed lines. Step 2: Glue confetti shamrocks onto the front of the grapevine wreath using the hot glue gun. Step 3: Glue the tag across the front of the wreath using the hot glue gun. What could be more charming than a row of these jaunty little leprechauns atop of plate of cupcakes? Miniature top hats (for miniature snowmen perhaps?) spray-painted green, make the perfect topper to these toppers! Materials needed: miniature black plastic Top Hats , green spray paint, orange bump chenille pipe cleaners , 1″ wooden beads, cake pop sticks, green sparkly card stock,  scalloped circle 1″ hole punch, regular hole punch, black pen, pink marker, hot glue gun. Step 1: Spray paint the miniature black top hats with green paint. Let dry. Step 2: Punch out a 1” scalloped circle. Punch the center with a regular hole punch. Step 3: Using hot glue, secure the bead to the cake pop stick. Slide the green circle up and secure to the bead with more hot glue, making a collar for the leprechaun.
