Last year, Monolith Games took to Kickstarter to launch a new Batman miniatures board game called Batman: Gotham City Chronicles . I was a backer of the project, and I was certainly not alone as the project had nearly 20,000 backers, collecting a grand total of $4.4 million. A year has passed and over the weekend, a humongous package arrived at my door. As I’m trying to create a new weekly vlog channel with my girlfriend Kitra called Ordinary Adventures (feel free to hit that link and subscribe!), we decided to record an unboxing of this epic tabletop game. "I just wanna get super weird today…" Signature Entertainment in the UK has debuted an official trailer for an indie coming-of-age comedy titled Lady-Like , from writer/director Brent Craft. This premiered at a film festival in 2017, and is just finally getting an official release this year - but only in the UK for now. It's another of these young woman must deal with becoming an adult comedies, starring Stephanie Simbari (from Coldwater , "We Got Issues", "Here and Now") as Allie. When a quick-witted but co-dependent college girl helps her best friend land a boyfriend, she's left on the outside looking in and is forced to deal with the realities of adulthood for the first time. The full cast includes Olivia Luccardi , Sarah Moliski , Corinne Mestemacher , Allie Gallerani , Chase Hemphill , Kera O'Bryon , and Maddie McGuire . Fun times. Back in 2014, we shared a kraft paper roll dispenser from George and Willy that we still get asked about to this day. As someone who does his fair share of takeout, perhaps the one thing I hate with a vengeance is the flimsy, horribly designed plastic cutlery I get with my food. The spoons sometimes come with these plastic flares that get left behind from the cheap injection molding process, the knives are more flexible than the food I’m cutting, and the forks don’t possess enough structural integrity to pierce my food. All that’s aside from the fact that this cutlery eventually reaches either a landfill or the ocean by the tonne, not having served any purpose whatsoever. The sad reality is that we’re far from democratizing a solution that actually works… but with projects like the Knork Eco, we’re getting a few steps closer to conscientiously designing single-use (or even multiple-use) plastic cutlery that has little to no impact on the environment.
