when it comes to throwing parties, it’s fun to have great glassware — it just adds a whole other layer to the event, not to mention, it’s very instagrammable should that be a goal of yours. when i’ve hosted parties i’ve rented from two amazing rental agencies both with gorgeous collections — casa de perrin in los angeles and frances lane in san francisco — i can’t recommend them more highly. but if you’re thinking about collecting your own, that seems like a worthwhile and fun hobby to have. i always like to have something to be on the lookout for when i hit the flea markets or yard sales, and if you’ve got a spot to display them, look how pretty this colored glassware can look. featured in this post is mostly depression era glassware which was mass-produced in the U.S. from the late 1920s to the 1940s and often used as giveaways to persuade customers to purchase goods, but companies like anthropologie, terrain and even neiman marcus are carrying new pieces too — so all great resources for you. i like chairish, etsy and ebay for vintage glassware. i was at the pasadena city college flea market today and saw a ton of — all fairly reasonably priced. happy hunting!
