i love my home in L.A. — i really do. but i definitely miss living closer to the ocean. so to get my fix, i follow the tiny canal cottage on instagram and whitney leigh morris’ beautiful small space lifestyle blog. her charming (and yes, very tiny!) home on the historic venice canals is so inspiring and not just because it’s decorated beautifully, it’s also an inspiration to living more purposefully. whitney makes living in under 400 square feet look elegant and effortless — even with a husband, baby, and two Beagles in the mix! when you live in a small home space becomes a bit of a puzzle and whitney has figured out each nook and cranny — finding a purpose for every corner. she now has a new book out, small space style: Because You Don’t Need to Live Large to Live Beautifully and even if your home isn’t nearly as tiny as her charming canal home, it’s full of brilliant tips to living with what’s necessary without a lot of useless excesses.
Featuring more than 200 tips for making the most of your little home and With chapters centered around the essentials—living, sleeping, eating, and bathing — small space style features real-life examples from Whitney’s own delightful cottage in Venice Beach, California, as well as home tours of some of her favorite tiny houses, micro-apartments, and beautiful, efficient small spaces. i think you’ll want to check it out, and add small space style to your christmas wish (or gift!) list.
