What’s New to Stream on Amazon Prime for December 2019

Amazon Prime is the only streaming service with a cost that also gets you free shipping, and that my friends is a deal. They’re in the Original programming game, but their biggest offering remains the ton of films available to watch anytime for Prime members.

The complete list of titles hitting Amazon Prime this month — December 2019 — is below, but first I’m going to shower some affection and point some eyeballs towards a few specific titles.

Red Dots

Amazon Prime Pick of the Month

Fast Color (2019) splashes across your screen on 12/11 and is absolutely worth your time. The tale of three generations of women with special powers, the film takes genre tropes like a near post-apocalyptic setting and superhero origin story and shapes them into an emotionally glorious journey. Gugu Mbatha-Raw takes lead — always a good sign — and along with director (Julia Hart) and the actors playing her mother and daughter the film is an empowering tale for women (and women of color) everywhere. It’s also a damn fine little genre thriller.

Great Creepy Crawlies

Phase Iv

Phase IV (1974) is the legendary Saul Bass’ sole feature effort as director, and it is a damn masterpiece pairing a documentary-like feel at times with a story about ants evolving beyond our comprehension. It sounds silly, but the film plays it all straight to wonderful effect. Bug (1975) takes the more familiar genre route with its mischievous bugs, and viewers will be happy about it as the little bastards kill, maim, and start a fire in some poor woman’s hair. It’s glorious. Both films crawl into your brain starting 12/1.

Critically Acclaimed!

The Last Black Man In San Francisco

The Aviator (2004) lands 12/1, and if you’ve already seen The Irishman (2019) on that other streaming service this is as good a place as any to continue your Scorsese marathon. Leonardo DiCaprio headlines as Howard Hughes in this epic biopic, and he plays crazy and crazy ambitious well. The Last Black Man in San Francisco makes his presence known starting 12/5, and while I haven’t seen it yet I’ve heard nothing but praise for its timely tale.

These pants are made with the world’s strongest material woven into its fabric – Graphene

There’s a high chance that the Omega pants will outlive the human race. Now I’m not being a pessimist, I’m just stating that these all-purpose pants come with the toughest ever material known to man woven into its fabric. With a lifetime warranty that should last long enough for it to be passed down multiple generations, the Omega pants were built to literally be worn forever, or quite possibly until the end-times… a little too stark? Maybe, but it drives the point home! Designed for practically any activity that requires pants, the Omega pants by Graphene-X come with a 3-layer fabric that isn’t just destruction-proof, it’s stretchable, waterproof, and has the ability to regulate your body’s temperature so you could potentially wear the same pair of pants while rock-climbing in the sun or on a skiing trip to a snow-capped peak. The pants’ fabric as well as its construction together help it juggle its different roles. Styled like a pair of all-purpose pants with removable leg-pieces, ...
