This spaghetti container delivers the right pasta portion for a party of 1, 2, or 4!

The “Caliber Box” keeps your spaghetti fresh and makes it easier for you to know what is the recommended pasta portion for a party of 1, 2 or 4! It’s a ‘recommended’ portion that comes on the store-bought box, but truly we all know there’s no portion when it comes to pasta. However, if you have to ration out your stock of spaghetti, or not overfeed your child, or maybe still try to get that summer body ready (like me, still trying!) then this measuring-storage container can do the math for you. A personal pasta tip: to know when your pasta is done, take a spaghetti noodle and fling it on the wall. If it sticks, it’s ready. Of course, you can also taste test for al dente but my way is more fun! Designer: Yohan Lansard Yanko Design https://ift.tt/2AtlTna June 01, 2020 at 01:21AM

‘The Savage Bees’ Will Give You a Buzz

Welcome to 4:3 & Forgotten  — a weekly column in which  Rob Hunter  and I get to look back at TV terrors that scared adults (and the kids they let watch) across the limited airwaves of the ’70s. In times of widespread panic, you can always rely on horror movies to take advantage of the hysteria. The 70s, in particular, was an anxious period in American history following events such as — but not limited to — the Manson Family murder trials, Vietnam, Watergate, and the rise of “Satanism.” However, there was also a scare craze that pertained to nature involving Africanized killer bees that allegedly gathered in large swarms to kill humans. In the end, the reports proved to be exaggerated. While Africanized bees did make their way to America, they never endangered the population. These insects still exist to this day, and they’ve posed no more trouble to society than regular bees throughout the years. Still, back in the 70s, the media was buzzing about the alleged deadly swarms, and

8 don’ts for your industrial design portfolio!

For an Industrial Designer, there are few things more significant than your portfolio. It’s the number one reason you still haven’t landed your first design job. Alternatively, it’s the main reason you got the job you are in. We all understand its importance, so here are a few pointers you should AVOID in your design portfolio. Shiny Renderings, Shitty Ideas Don’t get us wrong – high quality sketches and renderings are a plus in every portfolio. But an experienced recruiter will also judge your ideas, design decisions and know-how. Products Without Process Your portfolio is not a product catalog. It’s about you and how you work – so make sure to highlight your process. User is Missing Good research is more than a google search for competitor products. Go deeper and show that you know how a user-centered design approach looks like. No Story Don’t be boring – the product development process can be exciting! Use (visual) storytelling to build a portfolio that sticks. Quanti
